Our new workshops for 2024 are updated weekly

When: Saturday 21st September, 2024
Time: 10:30am to 1:30pm.
Where: Hawkesbury Remakery, 160 George St, Windsor
Relax and learn while you create a sturdy closed weave basket. Using a variety of materials you will learn a versatile stitch that completely covers an inner core giving the basket added strength.
This can be applied to any number of baskets.
You will have the opportunity to adapt your design by creating handles or adding decorations.
Morning tea will be provided as well as great conversation with basketry hints and tips along the way.
Notes and all weaving materials including a good choice of recycled fibres will be provided. Suitable for all skill levels.

Times. 9.30am to 2.30pm .
In co-operation with Remakery, Hawkesbury Woodcraft plans to hold a 4 day woodworking workshop at our club house in Wilberforce. The event is open to people above the age of 14 and no previous woodworking experience is required. Limited positions are available.
Cost. $80.00 total for the 4 days.
What $20.00 a day will get you:
1. Free membership to the club for the remaining financial year, with automatic membership (at standard cost) after that.
2. Morning tea each day,
3. BBQ style lunch each day, 4. Basic training, allowing you to participate, under supervision, the following: Scroll Sawing, Band Sawing, Pyrography, Box Making and Wood Carving.
5. Introduction to (but not operating) other woodworking equipment such as Table saws, Planers, Thicknessers, Routers and Lathes.
6. Basic woodworking provided in association with the above training.
7. Access to the shed and club facilities once financial. 8. Safety instructions and procedures throughout the series.
All materials, tools and PPE will be provided. Some items you make will be available to take home & show the kids.

Learn the fun art of hat burning also known as 'pyrography' .
Students will be able to design their own hat and apply the design to the outside, inside or the surface of the hat rim.
Learn about the different effects and tools to create line, shading and detail. A fun and creative skill that can also be applied to other surfaces
All materials provided including the hat

Beginner friendly With Joanna Pickford
In this class you will create a bee bath, from a terracotta saucer, dinner plate size, which will be supplied.
Learn the basics of upcycling and reuse of plates,cups and any decorative item that is weather proof.
Mosaic techniques that you can use on any object will be taught in this workshop.
You may also want to use another shallow dish or special plate for your own design
Cost is $88 which includes a 25cm terracotta tile and other tiles to create your bird bath
