Restore your creative self in this workshop where you will coil (stitched basketry) a small basket using raffia. Learn the technique and go from there!
Basketry provides both an outlet for creativity and a relaxing practice. Using Madagascan palm raffia you will learn all the steps to create your own little masterpiece! You can even add a bit of bling (either natural - seed pods etc or bright shiny beads). Join me for a fun morning.
All materials will be provided.
A lovely morning tea will be served.

Participants will receive tuition on how to create , and transfer a design, how to create lines, texture and various shades.

Learn the fun art of hat burning also known as 'pyrography' .
Students will be able to design their own hat and apply the design to the outside, inside or the surface of the hat rim.
Learn about the different effects and tools to create line, shading and detail.
A fun and creative skill that can also be applied to other surfaces. All materials and hat supplied.

Participants will learn about the art of the Japanese stitching technique called sashiko stitch.
You will use this technique of stitching which means to repurpose from discard cloth a gorgeous cushion. When grouped together the sashiko stitch is known as 'Boro'.
It is a repetitive and relaxing form of stitching that is continuous and creates an amazing piece
Participants will use a range of traditional fabrics as well as reproduction fabrics to create a unique piece.

Come and create a windchime from upcycled crockery and metals.
Learn wiring techniques to suspend the metals from a decorative plate.
Materials will be provided but please bring a collection of any secondhand jewellry,metals and chain that you might like to use.
